Waiting in the Silence

There’s something about the silence of Saturday that sinks into your soul.

Good Friday left the world broken. Jesus was gone. The tomb was sealed. And for those who loved Him most, Saturday brought stillness, confusion, grief, and questions.

They didn’t know Sunday was coming.

They didn’t know the stone would roll away or that death was being undone behind the scenes. All they knew was sorrow. A world without their Savior. A grief they couldn’t fix.

Have you ever felt stuck in a “Saturday season”?

When the prayers seem unanswered.

When grief is louder than peace.

When it feels like nothing is changing, and God is quiet.

But just because it’s silent doesn’t mean God’s not working.

Even in heartbreak, the story wasn’t over. Even when all seemed lost, love was still moving.

Jesus said it before any of it happened:

“Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy.”

—John 16:20

He knew they would weep. He knew their hearts would ache. But He also promised joy was coming.

So today, if you find yourself waiting—between the pain and the promise, between Good Friday and Easter morning…take heart.

The silence doesn’t mean He’s gone. The stillness doesn’t mean He’s forgotten you.

Sometimes the preparation is not where the eyes can see. But that does not mean something isn’t being prepared.

Hold on.

Rest if you must.

But don’t lose hope.

Joy is coming.

Because the tomb was never the end—it was only the waiting place.

Let today be a reminder that God does some of His most powerful work in the quiet.

So if you’re in a Saturday season, remember—He sees you, He’s near, and He’s not done.

“Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

Sunday is coming.

With love

Chasity
